Mavic sketched up the blueprint for their Crossmax wheels with the erratic ways of Enduro in the forefront of their minds, ensuring they meet the demands of serious Enduro riders who rely on dynamic performance to maximize the fun factor, both uphill and downhill. The Crossmax SL takes this concept to the top of the line for an even more dynamic ride. Tenaciously built to endure the abuse of aggressive descending, the Crossmax SL has shed weight in all the right places to ensure you on up those relentless climbs in the timeliest manner.

Bowing up a 19mm wide rim with Mavic's Fore drilling, the Crossmax SL 27.5" provides an extremely rigid ride to maximize power transfer and reduce fatigue stress, while allowing up to a 2.3 tire. Amongst the variable terrain that is Enduro racing, optimal traction and control is required, which is exactly what the Crossmax family specializes in. The UST ready rim profile not only enables a lower tire pressure, but it also improves handling, bite and comfort, whilst reducing inertia and flats. These inertia reduction properties are shared with Mavic's Inter Spoke Milling (ISM) process to produce a lighter rim that remains as rigid, removing the sluggishness and replacing it with extra muscle for climbing. Employing their patented ISM 4D technology, Mavic takes the Inter Spoke Milling concept to a whole new level by giving it an enhanced aerodynamic profile to reduce drag.

At the core of the wheels are hubs augmented with Mavic's QRM sealed cartridge bearings that keep play at bay, while Mavic's ITS-4 freewheel uses 4 pawls that work 2 by 2 to speed up engagement for better energy transmission. The front hub features a carbon body with aluminum flanges to yet again slay weight and provide a stiffer front end for more control.

To fully take advantage of the incredible new features and Crossmax technologies, the SL PRO LTD comes paired with a Mavic Crossmax Pulse tire. It is a 2.10 race oriented tire that is UST Tubeless ready, has center tread built for rolling fast, and taller side knobs to corner with confidence.
